Julia is 3 Months Old!

(...as of September 13th.)

Julia is growing like a (very pretty) weed! I have no idea how much she weighs now, but she's starting to move into 3-6 month sized clothes and continues to get chubbier by the second! (LOVE her chunka-chunka thighs!) She has got to be one of THE most pleasant babies in history...she still rarely cries (only if she's dirty, starving--although usually, she even waits patiently for meals, or has really, really bad gas), she eats well (6 feedings a day: 7:30, 10:30, 12:45, 3:30, 5:45, and 7:45), and she sleeps from 8pm to 7:30am AND puts herself to sleep...no tears even! Granted, she has a lighted mobile above her crib that she loves to watch, so that might help with the zero-crying-at-bedtime thing...but still.

I am in awe.

She definitely recognizes her family and wriggles and smiles whenever she sees us, and she's just starting to laugh. Actually, her first big belly giggle was right before Scott came home, but this past Sunday afternoon, she really got going! Can't wait till it's more regular! (Well...yes I can. Time already flies too fast!) :)

She can roll over from her tummy to her back pretty consistently, but only tries during her awake/play times. For naps, she's a tummy-sleeper, contentedly relaxing and snoozing away in that position. When she's awake? Not such a favorite position to be in!

She loves her Bumbo seat, and we have one of those Johnny Jump-Up things that clamps onto the door frame; she doesn't actually bounce too much yet, but she loves being upright so she can see what's going on, especially when I'm messing around in the kitchen.

She has the biggest eyes ever, still a brilliant blue...though I *think* they're going to be more like the girls' eyes and gain a greenish hue as she gets older. Her hair head fuzz is thickening, but is very light. It still has a strawberry-ish tint to it, but that might just be her residual newborn hair (?)...likely, she's gonna be a blondie, at least for a while. :) She's got very long eyelashes, too...also pretty light...and super fair skin. (She's also battling some eczema on her arms and neck. :( It seems to have flared up about the same time my allergies really kicked off, so maybe it's related? So far, keeping a gentle lotion on it seems to be keeping it moist enough that it's not cracking/bleeding, but if it doesn't start looking better, I'll probably ask her doctor about it at her next visit.)

She is cooing, squeaking, gurgling, and blowing spit bubbles. Ian is convinced he can understand her, and Collin turns into a big ball of mush around her, just bursting into giggles whenever their eyes meet. Both of them are wonderful, doting, and helpful big brothers. The girls are anxious for any and every opportunity to hold her, push her in the stroller, or be "in charge" of watching her...Julie-bean is mighty blessed to have such adoring older siblings, and it warms my heart to watch all 5 of them interact. God is so good! :)

Family Visit!

I feel like it's been forever since I've actually written anything on this blog. (And it almost has!) Unfortunately, (or fortunately...depending on how you look at it), I'm not going to be writing much this time either. :)

Over the weekend, we were able to visit with family! The kids had a BLAST with Nana, Papa, and (great) Grandpa Art...and so did we!

I didn't get many pictures...seems to be the norm when people visit since I'm busy enjoying the time rather than focusing on capturing it with a camera...but since Grandpa Art stayed with us, we snapped a few pictures of him with the kids.

An added blessings was that their visit fell over the weekend of Emily's very first soccer game (ever), so we had extra people to cheer her on! (Sadly, I also have no pictures of that...)

Thank you so, so, SO much for coming, Michael, Brenda, and Art! We loved having you and hope to visit with y'all again soon!!

Reintegration

Just some pictures...because they really ARE worth 1,000 words...at least!
