| 'Turns out, England has no shortage of healthy, energetic earthworms! The kids are enthralled. We dumped about 20 into our container, and they had all buried themselves in less than 5 minutes...but that was AFTER we studied them up-close and personally. :) |

Collin, to my great surprise, was absolutely HORRIFIED! The kids each got to hold our biggest, fattest worm for a bit so they could observe it better. (The bristles on the underside are difficult to notice at first, but you can feel them in your hand.) All the kids were pretty excited and interested. Collin went last. I expected him to be fascinated by the grossness, but instead, he started SCREAMING! He dropped the worm on the table, and then started crying because he had "slimy dirt on [his] hands!!!"
Nothing some soap and water could't remedy. :) |
